Yes! Those in SPO households commit to three retreats that serve to form them in their lives as a community of missionary disciples.
Each year begins with a Household Retreat in August, serving to unite the community in their way of life and teach the why/how/what of Household from the start of the year.
SPO also offers an annual retreat called Fan Into Flame to form students in relationship with the Holy Spirit. This retreat is in collaboration with SLC and FOCUS. While those in the household will be present, this retreat is open to any student.
SPO has a presence at the national FOCUS SEEK conference in early January. SPO Chapters from across the country gather for SPO breakouts scattered throughout the conference.

Students in household will pay a $549 household fee which includes:
Housing and Utilities
Communal Groceries: Because of the communal nature of the houses, households shop communally. This covers 90%+ of the food you’ll need month to month. This means the fridge is stocked for breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Special/personal requests can be made.
Household Items
Cleaning supplies, toilet paper, etc.
Household retreat and Fan into Flame are covered by this fee as well.
-
Yes! Those in household are welcome to work provided they are able to hold to their household commitments.
-
Yes, provided it does not conflict with your household commitments.
We do ask that students in household wait one month before joining another ministry team to ensure they are settled into the rhythm of their household life before taking on additional commitments.
Because of the demands that come with household along with the subsidized housing, students in household are not permitted to receive a stipend from another ministry leadership position.
-
While both FOCUS and SPO offer incredible ministries, we invite students to commit to one of the two for their formation and mission.
