John Deahl
Director of Sacred Liturgy & Music

John Deahl, M.M., is serving as our new Director of Sacred Liturgy and Music! He began formal organ studies at the age of 10 at the University of Kansas. Following his completion of a bachelor's degree in organ performance from University of Notre Dame, he returned to the University of Kansas where he received a master's degree in organ and choral conducting. A lifelong church organist, he served for several years as the Assistant Director of Music at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka.
Following a two year tenure as the organist at First Baptist Church in Topeka, he was appointed the Director of Music at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in Topeka.
John also worked as the head of engineering and design at the Reuter Organ Company in
Lawrence. In 2022, he and another former co-worker formed their own organ company focusing on repair and rebuilds, Deahl & Associates.
He also spent three years managing domestic and
international logistics for a museum cabinet company in Topeka. He and his wife, Katherine, have five daughters and therefore spend a great deal of time picking up toys.
Cecilia Christian
Cecilia is a part-time organist and active member of the St. Lawrence Center. Originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Cecilia is a sophomore at the University of Kansas, pursuing a double major in organ performance and speech-language-hearing. Her first car was her family’s old Honda minivan, and her favorite saint is St. Terese of Lisieux!

Andrew Finken
Andrew Finken has lived and grown all across the central US and currently resides in South Dakota. He is a Bass Vocalist from Benedictine College and first year Graduate student at KU in Church Music-Organ. Andrew enjoys video games, Bach, and anything that involves Root Beer or Dr. Pepper.
