Humans of St. Lawrence: Korbin Poznich
Lokesh: Hello everybody! Welcome back to Humans of Saint Lawrence. In this edition, we will be speaking with one of St. Lawrence’s most colorful personalities, Korbin Poznich. Korbin, how are you?
Korbin: I’m doing good, how are you?
Lokesh: I’m doing pretty good. So, Korbin, tell us a little bit about yourself. Where is your hometown, what are you studying, and how’d you hear about St. Lawrence?
Korbin: I’m from Gardner, Kansas and I’m a sophomore studying Engineering. I heard about St. Lawrence from my mom. During my senior year in high school, Kyle gave me a tour of the center and I found it to be a fantastic place to spend my time.
Lokesh: Awesome! What are the ways in which you’re involved at St. Lawrence and some of your most fondest memories?
Korbin: I’m involved with the GoodCo team, participate in a bible study, and am helping Brenna, our Student Director, establish connections with new students. Some of my fondest memories include “hanging out with the boys,” where we’d watch movies and have snacks at the Fireside Cafe until 3 A.M. Another fond memory was being on the Koinonia team and spending time with the Chapel Cover group.
Lokesh: Exciting! Now, based on these experiences, what advice do you have for anyone that’s wanting to get involved at the center?
Korbin: I would say try everything at least three times before you say no. For example, Ad Astra, a theological discussion that’s held on Tuesdays, is a great place to meet people and find out more information on how to become more involved.
Lokesh: What are some of the things that you value in life?
Korbin: I value the community that I’m a part of and the friendships I’ve made. I feel extremely grateful for the things that God has given me in life.
Lokesh: Speaking of friendships, what does the concept of friendship mean to you?
Korbin: It’s an intentional relationship that you create with someone else.
Lokesh: Would you say your friends are some of your biggest influences in your life currently? On top of that, are there other people in your life that have played a big role in contributing to the person you are today?
Korbin: Absolutely. I mean we’re in college and you’re away from your family, so your friends are very important because you spend a lot of time with them. On top of that, my parents have helped me and supported me throughout my life, so I would say that they’re a big influence in my life.
Lokesh: Any parting words?
Korbin: Go out there and have fun. Party hard and kill it.
Lokesh: Thank you, Korbin.
Korbin: You’re welcome, sir.
